Playing from the post position, Ryan Nicholas kept banging against Roger’s big guys but he eventually came away with 18 points. Prep’s shooting ace Sean Fischer scored 10 to help the first place and unbeaten Bullpups (5-0, 5-0) outlast the host Pirates (2-4, 2-4).

The Bullpups scored the first six points of the game, but then Rogers took control up to the midway point of the second quarter by sinking 3-pointers from their outside shooters. It was until the Pirates had a 22-13 lead, before the Bullpups went on a 15-0 run to end out the half. G-Prep turned its 28-22 halftime advantage into a 45-35 lead after three quarters.

Late in the game the Pirates were forced to foul which put the Pups on the foul line. The first-place Bullpups connected on 19 of 26 free-throw attempts, while Rogers didn’t miss in 12 trips to the line.
