Prep Scores 20 2nd Half Points To Beat U-HI 20-17

The first half in Friday night's football game at Gonzaga Prep ended with little offense and lots of in your face hard hitting defense. The second half was all special teams and big plays to give the victory to the Bullpups.
In the second half U-Hi marched on their first drive and scored from
6 yards out to extend their lead to 10-0. Prep responded right back
with a 67 yard drive by finishing it with an one yard rushing TD by
Joel Curry.
It appeared the Pups had the Titans pinned with a fourth and long but U-Hi's QB connected with one of his receivers for an outstanding 20 yard touchdown catch. With the score now 17-7 in favor of the Titans it appeared that the Pups were about to lose their first home game....Until Connor Payton returned the following kickoff back for a 95 yard TD. Payton did a nice job following his blockers on the right side of the field, avoided a couple tacklers and then sprinted down the sideline for the touchdown.

In
the first half both teams struggled to get their offenses rolling.
The Bullpups were held without a first down after two quarters of
play and both teams ended up punting the ball six times in the first half. Prep's
defense held the Titans to a 36 yard field goal late in the 2nd
quarter for the only score in the first half. Senior Aaron Page
for G-Prep led the defensive charge for the Pups. 
Prep got the ball back on offense after forcing U-Hi to punt
mid way through the fourth quarter. G-Prep takes the lead for the
first time of the game after QB Bryan Karawcki launched a
bomb to senior Jimmy Wilson for a 85 yard pass TD reception.
Wilson's TD gave Gonzaga a 20-17 lead. The Pups defense
stopped the Titans final drive by forcing U-Hi to throw an
incomplete pass on the last play of the game. G-Prep wins 20-17.
