G-Prep 49 - East Valley 3

Gonzaga started the game on defense and allowed a field goal on East Valley's first possession, but then the defense made some adjustments after that first series and held the Knights at bay the rest of the game.

Bishop Sankey ran for 212 yards on 13 carries, scoring twice. Jack Wilson scored on a long run and reception as the Bullpups opened the season with an impressive win over the Knights at home. In his debut as starter, quarterback Shane Schmidlkofer completed both passes he threw, his first was a 28 yard touch pass to a wide open Nick Lenoue for a touchdown. Schmidlkofer's second TD throw was to a streaking Jack Wilson for 65-yards.
