Tigers Rally To Beat Pups October 30. 2009 On homecoming night for Gonzaga, the visiting team Lewis & Clark rallied with less than 25 seconds in the fourth quarter to defeat Gonzaga 21-20. The loss forces the Pups to participate in a three team tie breaker with Ferris & University on Tuesday at Joel Albi. Prep will face Ferris in the first game. The winner will advance to play University. The winner of the second game will represent the GSL for the third State playoff spot
. Jack Wilson swaggered into the end zone from 8 yards out in the first quarter to give the Pups an early lead. In the second quarter G-Prep’s QB Shane Schmidlkofer broke off right tackle and scored from 27 yards to end G-Prep’s first half scoring. In the second half Jack Wilson broke around the left end and scored from 5 yards. The touchdown was setup by a massive offensive block from Bishop Sankey.
Bishop Sankey led all rushers with 29 carries for a total of 171 yards. Slot back Jack Wilson rushed for 82 yards on 8 carries and Shane Schmidlkofer finished the night with 66 yards on 8 carries.
