Mead vs G-Prep

Pups Fumble Away Victory

October 16, 2009

Mead rallied after two costly turnovers by Prep late in the game to defeat the host team Gonzaga 17 - 13.  It appeared that the Pups had the game under control with their strong  defense. The defense held Mead to just 4 first downs for the entire game, but in the 3rd quarter Mead's tailback went off tackle for a 52 yard touchdown when it appeared that he was in the grasp of a couple G-Prep defenders. Mead scored another touchdown after Prep fumbled the ball on their own 25 yard line.

Bishop Sankey broke the Gonzaga Prep 34 year old rushing record that was held by Detroit Lion's assistant coach Tim Lappano. Lappano set the record at Prep back in 1974. Sankey finished the night with 115 yards rushing on 17 carries and one TD. Sankey has 1.340 yards this season
